Have a sewing machine that’s been sitting unused—or one you’re not sure how to operate? This hands-on sewing machine clinic is designed to help you bring that machine out of storage and finally learn how to use it with confidence. Participants will learn the basic parts and functions of a sewing machine, how to thread it correctly, select stitches, wind a bobbin, and troubleshoot common issues. With guided instruction, you’ll practice essential sewing techniques while creating a simple, beginner-friendly project you can complete during class.
Whether you’re brand new to sewing or just need a refresher, this clinic offers a supportive environment to build foundational skills and leave ready to start sewing at home.
Please bring your own working sewing machine (along with its power cord, accessories and owner’s manual) and 3 coordinated fabrics to construct a pillowcase: 1 yard for the body, ¼ yard for border, and 2 inches for trim ( all 42-45" wide). Basic sewing supplies will be provided for you to take home.
