Over the course of 10 engaging online modules, participants develop a comprehensive Mission Map that serves as a blueprint for their organization's purpose, programs, and impact. This asynchronous course provides a practical and accessible overview of the essential components of building and sustaining a successful nonprofit organization.

While participants complete coursework on their own schedules, weekly assignments and due dates foster a shared learning experience, encourage meaningful engagement with course content, and help build connections among participants throughout the semester.

Participants explore best practices for emerging nonprofits, including board governance, grant management, volunteer engagement, financial stewardship, strategic planning, and the development of mission, vision, and values statements. Through recorded lectures, guided activities, real-world examples, reflection exercises, and practical assignments, students gain a deeper understanding of the systems and structures that support long-term organizational success.

A key component of the course is the creation of a personalized Mission Map, which helps participants clearly articulate their organization's goals, identify intended outcomes, and communicate their impact to stakeholders, funders, and community members. This practical tool provides a strong foundation for future planning, fundraising, and program development.

This course is offered asynchronously online, allowing participants to complete coursework on their own schedule throughout the semester. Students will have access to course materials, activities, and assignments through the college's online learning platform.
