TCC provides training motorcycles, helmets, classroom materials. Student must wear long sleeve shirt, long pants, full fingered gloves, over the ankle footwear and eye protection (sunglasses are okay). Students may wear their own 3/4 or full-face DOT approved helmet. To be eligible to enroll, a student must be at least 16 years of age. Students under 18 will require written parental permission and a parent MUST attend the first class meeting. Successful completion of the Basic Motorcycle Rider Course provides students with a DMV completion certificate which, along with a valid Virginia driver's license, allows student to receive the M2 endorsement on their license within a one year period from the completion date of class. No knowledge or skill tests are required at DMV. NOTE: A student under 19 years of age must go to DMV with their valid Virginia driver's license and their DMV safety completion certificate to obtain a learner’s permit. Students are waived from taking the written and skills test in obtaining the permit, but student must hold a learner's permit for 9 months before getting their M2 or M3 class endorsement on their driver’s license. This DMV requirement is regardless of the fact the student holds a valid license or has successfully completed our course. Students must be able to ride a bicycle. You must be in class 15-20 minutes prior to start time and attend all class sessions. Due to accreditation standards you will not be permitted to enter class once class has begun and we will not be able to refund or transfer tuition to another available class.
