Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is an industry-recognized certification that tells employers you have been trained and mastered the essential concepts of project management methods defined in The Guide to the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) Fifth Edition®.

The CAPM Course is for students who are new to project management and wish to become knowledgeable in project management methods well enough to “speak the language” of project managers while they gain experience in an entry-level management role. Assistant managers, team leaders, technical leaders, executive administrative assistants are examples of career paths that benefit from CAPM certification.

Course topics are centered around an Overview of The PMBOK® Guide Fifth Edition
  • Project Planning and Scope: How big? How complex? What makes the project successful?
  • Managing Schedule and Budget – Keeping track of time and money.
  • Planning for Quality Assurance – Make sure it’s built right.
  • Human Resource Planning – Who does what? Do you need to hire staff?
  • Communication Planning – Leadership skills and communication techniques.
  • Procurement/Purchase Planning – Supplies? Consultants? Services? Need to buy anything?
  • Risk/Stakeholder Management – Avoid putting out fires, manage project risks.
