Introduction
The ability to visualize in three dimensions has been shown to be an important skill for people who
work in scientific, engineering and technical fields.

This course contains three modules to help a student develop blueprint reading and 3-D spatial
skills.  Each module utilizes visuals, physical models and sketching with paper and pencil, all having
been shown to develop spatial skills.

  • Students will demonstrate knowledge and technical expertise in interpreting blueprints.
  • Students will utilize problem-solving techniques and participate in laboratory activities to
develop an understanding of course concepts,
  • Instructor should provide each student with real world learning opportunities and instruction
related to drafting, design, and related engineering occupations.
Objectives
•      Demonstrate the ability to interpret blueprints.
•      Obtain an understanding of multi-view projections.
•      Apply dimensions, sections, and auxiliary views on a working drawing.
•      Understand tolerance, allowances, and fits between mating parts in an assembly.
•      Demonstrate an acceptable knowledge of interpreting details, scaling, revisions and notes.
