Tidewater Community College Apprenticeship Institute is collaborating with a German manufacturing company, DEHN International to send their German apprentices to Norfolk, VA for a 2-week apprentice immersion program. The purpose of the program is to expose the apprentices to American apprenticeship, American culture, and to practice their English speaking skills.
During the 2-week program, the apprentices will be required to work on a project comparing and contrasting German apprenticeship to American apprenticeship. A TCC adjunct instructor will be working with apprentices on the presentation over the 2-week period. At the end, the apprentices must present their project to an audience.
