Financial Reporting & Analysis

This fundamental course covers the essentials of financial reporting and analysis for individuals who lack an extensive background in financial management.  The session emphasizes applying financial principles in a nonprofit setting by reviewing the statements of the nonprofit organization, Feeding America.  The documents include the following statements: 
 
  • Statement of Financial Position
  • Statement of Activities
  • Statement of Cash Flows
  • Statement of Functional Expenses
Participants will also review the financial statements and learn how these are used for the following:
  • Allocating Resources
  • Understanding financial statements
  • Creating and maintaining the budget
  • Determining and managing reserves

  • Understand the financial statements of a nonprofit organization
  • Learn how reviewing the statements help in making key decisions for the participant’s organization
  • Gain confidence in reviewing financial statements and how to use these for budgets and other key decisions
