A strong and engaged board of directors is an indication of a healthy organization. Even the most successful nonprofit organizations need a check-in to make sure that the right board is in place to govern the organization and ensure sustainability. A board also needs a strong CEO at its helm to work in coordination with the board for a well-run organization.
This workshop will explore best practices for board evaluation, including looking at the board composition, diversity of skills and attributes, and levels of individual engagement. Tools for recruiting the right board members, as well as individual and full board evaluation samples will be provided. The workshop will also look at tools for CEO evaluation and the implementation of policies around this process. We will also discuss some ways to improve board composition and the evaluation process for both the board and CEO.
