The program is scheduled for seven weeks of fully didactic training that includes Safety Basics, welding skills, Pipefitting, OSHA-10 and an introduction to standards and standard items. This program is designed to be 90% hands-on, focusing on a candidate's ability to follow verbal and written instruction; display manual dexterity consistent with the welding and pipefitting crafts; accomplish specific tasks in a reasonable time; and perform all activities in a safe manner.
The class meets from 8 AM – 3 PM, Monday through Friday. The method of instructional strategies is a combination of face to face, testing, and practical student demonstrations. Students will earn the following certificates:
American Welding Society Certified Welder
VSRA Pipefitter Certificate
OSHA – 10
