The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Pipelayer prepares student for employment in the utility industry. Pipelayers are Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. They ensure the ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes and align pipes and seal joints together with cement or glue. Program modules cover topics such as Rigging and Delivering Pipe and Associated Structures; Cutting Pipe; Gaskets, Joints, and Fittings; introduction to elevations; Trench Safety; Foundation Stabilization, Bedding, and Dewatering; and Testing Pipe.
