Maritime Logistics Certification Program

The Tidewater Community College Maritime Logistics Management Certification Program is a six, course, 200-hour, in 40-hour blocks of instruction leading to a certificate in Maritime Logistics Management. 
 
Maritime Logistics is part of the supply chain process that plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services, and related information from the initial point of supply to that of consumption in order to meet customers’ requirements in the Maritime and business environments.  Supply management has evolved from a clerical function requiring limited education to strategic supply management with professional staff and a proactive approach with a global view.
 
In the Maritime Logistics Management Certification Program students will take individual courses in Purchasing and Materials Management; Distribution and Transportation Management; Supply Chain Management; Inventory and Warehouse Management; and, Maritime Logistics Afloat and Ashore leading to the award of a Certificate in Maritime Logistics.  See the individual course description for detailed information about the 5 core courses in the Maritime Logistics Management Certification Program.
