Customized - Acoustical Sheetmetal Company GMAW Traininig

This course is designed to introduce the student to the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) application and provide lab and practice time for the student to certify as a GMAW Welder.
Hands-on and classroom instruction will be delivered in the following content areas:
 
  1. GMAW Introduction and Set up
    1. GMAW equipment and safety requirements
    2. Benefits of utilizing GMAW
    3. Common problems and concerns
    4. Spray transfer method welding process performed by a GMAW welder
  2. GMAW Short Arc Introduction and Set up
    1. Personal protective equipment
    2. Short arc welding process performed by a GMAW welder
  3. Horizontal, Vertical and Flat Fillet Welds
    1. How to weld horizontal, vertical and flat fillet welds with the spray transfer method
    2. How to weld horizontal, vertical and flat fillet welds with the short arc method
  4. Horizontal, vertical and flat Butt Welds
    1. How to weld horizontal, vertical and flat butt welds utilizing the spray transfer and short arc methods
 
At the conclusion of this training, participants should be able to demonstrate the correct welding applications for ¼”, 3/8” and 5/8” fillet welds.  At the conclusion of this training, participants should be able to demonstrate an acceptable butt weld in the horizontal, vertical and flat position.
