This camp introduces students to basic knowledge and equipment used to backpack Virginia's scenic trails. Topics include Leave No Trace principles; the 10 essentials needed for back country adventures; equipment used for shelters, sleeping, and meals; setting up and breaking down camp.
Materials needed: comfortable Athletic shoes, hat and sun screen, small backback like those used for school or day hikes, notebook and pen.
