The Trauma Informed Leader

The Trauma Informed Leader is an engaging 5-hour workshop that moves leaders from Trauma-Aware to Trauma-Informed.  The workshop will equip leaders with the insights, tools, and reflective practices necessary to foster a Trauma Informed and Trauma Responsive Culture. Nonprofit leaders frequently navigate environments marked by collective trauma, potential burnout, and chronic stress. This immersive workshop ensures that leaders will acquire the skills to help them prioritize psychological safety, empathy, and emotional capacity, while supporting others to do the same. By integrating Trauma Informed Practices into leadership approaches, participants will be better prepared to support their teams, enhance organizational health, and deepen community impact.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Comprehend the definition of trauma, basic neurobiology of trauma, and its pervasive nature.
  • Recognize Potential Leadership Responses to Traumatic Experiences
  • Comprehend the foundational principles of trauma-informed care and their relevance to nonprofit leadership.
  • Recognize the manifestations of trauma within organizational settings and their effects on staff dynamics and service delivery.
  • Develop strategies to cultivate safety, trust, and empowerment within their teams and among the populations they serve.
  • Implement leadership practices that promote resilience and mitigate burnout.
  • Engage in self-reflection to identify personal leadership strengths and areas for growth in trauma-informed practices.
