Description:
Participants will be introduced to and develop competencies in Carbon Arc welds; Flux core 71T.1.045 wire fillets and wire butt welds.
Organization:
This program is designed to be hands-on, focusing on a candidate's ability to
follow verbal and written instruction;
display manual dexterity consistent with the welding craft;
accomplish specific tasks in a reasonable time; and
Perform all activities in a safe manner.
The course is 120 hours long.
This course includes instructor delivery, physical demonstrations, hands-on practice, time to refine skills and review, practice welds, and final weld sample performed by the trainee in horizontal, vertical, and overhead welding positions. This sample will be retained and evaluated for acceptability using industry standards.
Objectives:
Given welding equipment and tools, the student will be able to weld multiple positions and processes efficiently and safely, accurately setup and minor troubleshooting of equipment, and acquire a basic understanding of carbon arc in accordance to industry standards and instructor requirements. Participants will be evaluated on Carbon arc welds, flux core welds and parts of machines
RULES OF CONDUCT
All candidates will be expected to follow the following rules of conduct: Attendance for the full session is expected.
No radios, cell phones, or other electronic devices are allowed in the lab area
No food or drinks are allowed in the lab area
Candidates are expected to be attentive at all times and are encouraged to ask questions.
Breaks will be given by the instructor as deemed appropriate. Otherwise, all lab time is to be used to meet the session's objectives.
