Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) License course.  A U.S. Coast Guard OUPV license is required for anyone operating a vessel carrying up to six passengers and crew for hire.  This license is sometimes referred to as a Six Pack (six passengers) or Charter Boat license.  Course subjects include general navigation, international rules and regulations, piloting and deck seamanship. Students who successfully pass this course are not required to take the U.S. Coast Guard examinations at a Regional Exam Center as part of their credentialing.

Students considering taking this course to earn their Merchant Mariner Credential should become familiar with the USCG licensing requirements ahead of registering for the course to ensure they meet eligibility requirements.  No course prerequisites are required for students interested in taking the course for any reason other than licensing.

This course consists of 20 sessions.  100% attendance is required in order to comply with USCG training requirements.

Fees include tuition and books.
