Certified Medical Administrative Assistants are often the first to greet and help patients, and can help set the stage for a patient’s experience. CMAA is one of the fastest growing careers in the health care industry today. The need for professionals that understand how to perform administrative office procedures and manage computerized medical office software is growing rapidly. This fast paced 3-hour program meets 3 days per week, and a total of 5 Fridays for home study hours.
Each day this program introduces basic medical terminology, patient insurance claims, and day-to-day office procedures. In this course students learn how to protect patient confidentiality, perform scheduling, operate computer systems to accomplish office tasks, patient documentation, customer service, review and answer practice correspondence, basic billing, and other administrative duties required by front office personnel. This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed in order to be successful in a medical business setting.
Once completing the class students will sit for the NHA Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam.
